The shape shifter refers to a character that changes former identity throughout the story. This can be physical changes, but it can also be more abstract like changing morals or allegiances. Perkins is very much morally ambiguous. And so I look at her as like she enjoys playing around the edges of kind of doing whatever she thinks is best for herself.
