By the late nineteenth century, john bull is being picked up by commentators overseas. And and that's where you get the nasty, morracist imperial characteristics being imputed to him. But i think it's predominantly because of the the boggy nature of the low countries. It might also be to do with the the slipperiness that arbuthnot attributed to the dutch.
