Venture Capital: A Financial Instrument for Startups
Venture capital is a financial instrument that's used to get early stage companies off the ground. It started about 30 to 40 years ago, and in the last couple of decades we've seen more and more venture capital firms popping up. These firms are usually run by a couple of key investors called general partners. They're not investing their own money like an angel investor might be,. what we call angels, but more money that they're managing on behalf of their own investors.
