Obscenity and Profanity Are Not Protected by the First Amendment.
Ben: I could swear that the courts have found that profanity is not obscenity and that profane speech, including all the usual letter-designated bad words, fell squarely under the First Amendment. The Supreme Court granted certiorari on a number of cases yesterday as we're recording this was the first day of their 2022-2023 term. Ben: Who better to evaluate algorithms than an octogenarian? Justice Jackson and Justice Barrett might be getting at least 20 odd law clerks who can explain it to them.
