The Ku Klux Klan and the Black Christian Tradition
The founder of the Second Ku Klux Klan espoused white Christian nationalist idea. White, native born, not immigrants, white, clearly race is part of this. Gentile, Protestant Americans, again, there was very strong anti-Catholic bias throughout most of the 20th century. The Black Christian tradition stands as an explicit tradition that arose specifically to resist ideas of white Christian nationalism.
