Is the Field of Palliative Care Doing Any Better?
When I was writing about this a decade ago, we were having a declining number of geriatricians. As far as the condition of the field of geriatrics, it is not doing any better than before. What troubles me much more now are people who face a serious illness come into the hospital and are never asked what their priorities are. That happens still a minority of the time.
