The Overriding Principle of Lit
The overriding principle is based around web components interoperability, right? And so the biggest thing is the lit and polymer before it are implementation details of your component. After that, we try to be minimal. So we basically try to give you just the things that you want in order to make writing web components easy or lightweight. That's really most of it. We give like a life cycle that's a little more fine grained than the web component life cycles. You can declare properties of your element that will cause it to rerender when they change.
