Abraham lincoln was born in 18 o nine, just a couple of decades into this battle. The south especially, said, this is our economy. You'll destroy it if you get rid of slaves. And a lot of northerners, who also made money out of the deal, looked the other way. Thomas jefferson could easily have been l Lincoln's grandfather. That's how close these generations are. If you think about changing the minds of your own ather or grandfather, that generation of people where you know what they will accept and base their world views on,. you know whatthey've handed down to you.
