The Threats to AI
The biggest threat that is real in my opinion is not the malicious use of AI with the careless use of AI. I see people who are experts in the field think there's a lot of hype in this letter. There's definitely practical things that could be done to build the kind of safety mechanisms these guys are talking about. But fundamentally, it's like there's a political play here. If they think they can solve a regulatory problem with the EI in six months, it's just not possible.
