The Differences Between Women and Men in Distance Races
There is no biological reason that the woman can't race 160 to 180k every day if the men are racing 200. In mountain biking for instance and cyclocross the woman also has shorter distances but it's controlled by the time available for the race. So they set it that you're gonna do six laps. The men are gonna do seven maybe eight depending on how fast they go. And so there is some historical constraint to how far we allow a woman to run which is insane. But in actual fact there's lots of biology and physiology suggests that women are every bit of capable of doing ultra long distances as males are.
