CHAPTER

Marx's Critical Utopian Socialism and Communism

Marx turns towards an examination of what he calls critical utopian socialism and communism. He sees this as a socialism that is still grounded in the struggle between classes theorized by people like Saint-Sémont, Foyé, and Owen. But according to Marx, they do not develop a truly proletarian form of socialism. They ultimately see little hope of the conditions of capitalism itself to allow for the proletarian liberation.
