The Drought of the World
"There's all these movies in which the thirst of your hero is reflected in the thirst of the world," he says. "When you get to that moment, sort of that's when you light the spark and you have this sort of maximum reading." A great first act takes a deficit or a thirst in the larger world and combining it with the thirst in your hero's world. In 17 minutes in Richard Dreyfuss' film Bingo, we meet his character for the first time.
