The Basic Principles of Internal Combustion Engine Cars
Transistors allowed engineers to miniaturize circuit elements in a way that just wasn't possible before. In 19 59, we got the first integrated circuit that came out of texas instruments. It wouldn't be until the late 19 sixties that we would see production cars incorporate transsistors in them for fuel injection. If you can tweak the mix of air and fuel so that you have the right mixture, you could theoretically boost vehicle performance. And that performance might manifest as more power, or it might mean that the vehicle is more fuel efficient, or both.
