The idea of banning books in America is certainly it's not something that we take lightly. The concerns that get the most airtime today are tending to revolve around things like gender or racial identity, and this is very potent, powerful stuff. While a lot of the banning is coming from more conservative actors in the political sphere, the political left has moved to ban books as well for objectionable phrasing.
