Can I Ride My Bike Over to My Friends?

The other day, my son asked me if he could go to his friend's house. And I just remember thinking like, how did I get here? Like, I don't feel like I have my life figured out and I'm responsible for somebody else's life. It was the first time in that season that Leland and I were saying this really quickly. In full disclosure, I just definitely don't feel there yet.
