Introduction
The story of Nintendo is a story of the 80s, the 1880s to be exact. Founded by Fusagiro Yamauchi in September 1889,. The name Nintendo is commonly assumed to mean Leave Luck to Heaven but it can alternatively be translated as the Temple of Free Hanifuda. In 1959 Nintendo made a deal with Disney to print characters on the Nintendo trading cards. Motivated by the successes of Atari and Magnavox, Nintendo acquired the Japanese distribution rights for the Magnavox Odyssey in 1974.
