We have the death of Judas today in the first book of Maccabees chapter 9. He had been fighting for the people of Israel, fighting against those lawless ones. When you sit down to eat with a ruler, observe carefully what is before you and put a knife to your throat if you are a man given to appetite. Do not be ensnared by a woman's beauty, and do not desire a woman for her possessions.
