Hydro Mal Vents Off Antarctica

Alex was on an expedition that discovered one of these off antarctica. The deep ocean is food limited, so life is quite thin on the ground. And then suddenly your camera just stumbles into this area where there is just abundant life all over the sea floor and around these vents. You get these chimneys built up from e metallic sulphides and these billowing clouds of what looks like black smoke. It's more than a warm bathyes, absolutely. We were actually finding specimens of the crabs which had cooked parts of their tere limbs because they'd got too close to this hot fluid. I guess they learnd not to do it again. Yes.
