The Origins of Genesis
Deuteronomy 26 is typically coy. The patriarchs are not mentioned by name, not one of them. Jewish writers only really start paying attention to the earliest stories in Genesis during the second temple period in Hellenistic times. In that explosion of literary talent we find book after book claiming to be of the earliest provenance.
