Do People Harm Living Beings, Compulsion, Hate and Confusion?
Buddha asks columnists to think about unwholesome mental states. He gets them to consider, do people harm living beings or speak falsely? And so he appeals to their conscience and communal sense of what a wise person would do. The word that we translate as the wise here means those whose judgments you trust.
