Robotics
I spend most of my time working on software for robotics not the mechanical and electrical design side. Both are important. I think if you look at something like a modern motor car the complexity of those things or components that are in it is exquisite precision with which it's been manufactured. To be honest the stupidly low price of that thing is sort of what we need to do with robots. The robots we build are not as complicated as a cheap car but they're cost more than a cheap car. It's probably because we don't make robots insufficient volume. They're still rare and unusual. Even in my lab it's a rare day and a good day if I actually see a robot move
