Is There a Democracy Without Diversity of Access?

In order for a democracy to work properly, people need to have access to a broad range of news and information services. I mean, maybe part of the the issue here is that we are talking about consolidation in the console market,. which is already the only the second largest of the sectors. But like games as an industry has so many different pockets, right? There's mobile, there's PC, there's console, we're talking about a subset of a subset of concern. And yeah, this is a big chunk of that subset. It has the ability to produce monopolistic behavior in one sector of games - but it's also games. Let's not take ourselves too seriously!
