Keith Frankish: My experience of the leaf is probably best explained in terms of brain activity, not in terms of a particular feel of things. There's nothing in the story as I would tell it that depends upon particular properties of the biological brain tissue. He says he doesn't see any reason why similar processes couldn't be performed by non-biological tissue. "I'm sure other kinds of consciousness do exist, also in the universe"
