How Charles Harbour Discovered Colour and Changed My Photography
In 1975, I really felt that my photography in the United States was kind of reaching a dead end. And those trips just opened up other worlds entirely for me. After three years, I suddenly realized there was something I wasn't dealing with. The intense colors and the vibrant light of these places where you feel that sort of intense color is almost embedded in the culture. So I started working in color in late 1978, early 1979. That was the next huge shift for me to start working in color. And basically, I've done so ever since.
