The phrase bury the hatchet, using this term is cultural appropriation of a centuries old tradition among some North American indigenous peoples who buried their tools of war as a symbol of peace. Liz: If you are not a part of a particular culture, then you are not allowed to talk about, use phrases from, or engage in any cultural practice or tradition that came from that culture. This literally renders the United States completely paralyzed because we are melting pot of all these different cultures.
