Tod: I think there is a tension that paul has set up in romans nine, and i think it is reverberating through 11. So here, again, we're getting this kind of dynamic of, it's not all the jews, it's some of the jews. Tod: The idea of branches broken off being grafted in assumes there is a healthy tree to be grafted into. But paul is not saying the whole tree of israel is healthy.
