Is There a Way to Make Cash Digital?

In the early eighties, David Cham argued that we need a way to make cash digital. He was concerned about giving disproportionate power over our lives to any one. In his paper he said: 'If we do not have some equivalent to cash that's digital, then we can foresee a future in which the possibility for controlling individual people's lives becomes far beyond whatever would have been possible before' Asi says this is just visually confusing and wants us to imagine an age when there were no bank accounts or records of transactions.
