Is There a Hermeneutical Consciousness?
For God the hermeneutical consciousness is constrained. He doesn't think that we can simply get ourselves out of history, tradition and prejudice. And so for him, these constraints aren't meant to be simply invisible. They're not meant to simply be trans-historical. So I think he thinks there's a different type of value of totality and harmony at play than you find in capitalist social life.
