The Disconnect Between Marketing and Value Metrics

There's always an assumption with digital that you can just measure anything digital. But marketing doesn't always marry what the business wants, the business's goals with what marketing is doing. So for instance, things like shares and likes don't inform us as to how well our brand is doing with gaining revenue. They're not really KPIs to indicate whether or not we're going to make money off of these folks who are sharing and liking.
