The Fifth Amendment and State Property Law
The fifth amendment says the government can't take away my property without just compensation. But who decides whether it's my property to begin with? Well, typically that's state property law. So state property law is sometimes giving me a right to sue federal officials but not otherwise. Without state tort law, I wouldn't have been able to get into court at all to even litigate this state tort law.
