Using a Non Invariant Item in a Modeling Environment
In a testing environment, people would probably have apoplexy over allowing variables to tribute differently across groups. And so it's much easier to cut your losses and toss the item. But i don't think the sky is falling when you have non invariant loadings. I think the key is doing your due diligence to try to identify those and model them accordingly.
