The Crisis of the Political Interview
Rob Burley's new book focuses in on the political interview. It seems to me that the political interview is in kind of deep crisis at the moment. There aren't many fascinating politicians with a determination or freedom to explore themes relatively openly as there was in the 70s, 80s and 90s. And I think too many of the interviews treat politics almost like an accountancy exam where the interviewer tries to set all the tax and spend traps for labor politicians.
