The Mathematical Misconception
If democratic voting is not the rational means by which we come to gain truth or better explanations in science, why should it be right for politics? Some politicians have been so perplexed by the sheer perverseness of apportionment paradoxes that they have been reduced to denouncing mathematics itself. As a matter of fact, there is no such thing as mathematical inspiration, mathematical knowledge coming from an infallible source, traditionally God.
