In italy you're generally charged more to sit outside in the piazza and enjoy your coffee or meal than if you were standing at the bar inside. You may see a cevizio or service charge of 10 to 20 percent added to your bill this should also be printed on the menu. The best way to avoid a lot of these things is to pre-book those taxis and transfers and ideally not carry a lot if any cash.
