Elgar was in a teasing mood, writing about his good friend Hugh David Stewart Powell. The second section is one of my favorite instances of humor in music. Humor in or out of music can be strong and important like Golovir's travels. It can make you even have deep emotions, but it's still humor because it makes you feel good inside.
