The World Is a Mess
The world is just a crazy, complicated place. The internet is made out ductape,. everything is very fragile, and it's a miracle that any of it works. If you add enough layers of duck tape and abstractions and crazy rules and stuff, it all seems to work. And part of the fun part of programming is when you come up with a clever solution for the super hairy mess that is the world.
