The Three Circles of Being
We exist in three different drives according to self-compassion theory. One is the threat drive, one is the motivation drive and one is the soothing drive. The idea of this is that we can then help ourselves identify when we are in the threat drive so that we can get ourselves out of that. So if you think about three kind of different circles, my threat circle is a red circle. When I envision my motivation Circle or my motivated drive, it's kind of a blue or a green color. And then my soothing circle is sometimes green, sometimes yellow, sometimes just a nice color that I'm drawn to. This is something that people might teach a client if they're coming to
