Sleep is good at consolidating memories, says Dr Adam Mosseides. Good sleep can help consolidate memories of events that you want to remember. In the first of these two papers, it shows something which is effectively the opposite of revision really. It's that preventing sleep is effective in stopping laying down these traumatic memories.
