Theory of consciousness is based on the idea that particles like electrons can do many different mutually exclusive things at the same time. In Schrodinger's cat thing, you know, you put this electron that's spinning in two directions at thesame time in a box. The answer is first the detector gets split into two versions of itself. And if you ask either one of those versions how you see a live cat and another version of those outcomes, then they would say just Obviously Just Do It! This kind of view gives rise to many parallel universes.
