The Helium-2 Signature of Population 3 Stars

Astronomers say they have spotted the universe's first stars on our website, Quantumagazine.org. Other groups using the web telescope are also hunting for the first stars. And there remains the tantalizing possibility that some of the unexpectedly bright galaxies already seen by the James Webb Space Telescope in the early universe could owe their brightness to massive population 3 stars.
