The Effect of Lowering the Mound on Pitching
In the 19th century, pitchers started striking out a lot of hitters. So they moved the mound back five feet to make it safer for players. The Atlantic League will see what happens with an extra 12 inches by as the hitter. An extra one 100th of the second of reaction time is equivalent to a ticket and a half velocity.
