Popper says eyewitnesses are notoriously unreliable. They can contradict one another to begin with, and our senses are just unreliable,. despite what the empiricists say, despite what the positivists want to say. So here we are at part 14, and proper begins in a powerful way by asking us, quote, but what then are the sources of our knowledge? The answer, I think, is this. There are all kinds of sources of ourknowledge, but none has authority. We may say that the times can be a source of knowledge or the encyclopedia Britannica. It plainly can't be because we can't always be there to figure out whether or not something what we're seeing
