Looking Backwards in the Rest of the World

Medernity is all about the future. It it's about shaping the future, science fiction, a bright future. On the left, you've got an increasing conversation round in post colonialism. And so, you know, looking back to the past, dealing with the wrongs of the past. Research says asian young people are much more future focused now in asia than people in the west. We're increasingly looking backward. That's one way in which the story of an inevitable secular future, a bright, shining utopia, that's starting to falter. I took my boys to the melburn museum this week and a just a fascinating dynamic that i saw in the museum.
