How much foreign aid you receive from the World Bank and IMF depended on how low your GDP was. So what has gotten lost in all of that is the notion thatAll that GDP was supposed to do is measure the output of the country. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. But if you use one measure or one indicator to measure too many things, then you end up getting an indeterminate world.
