The Eucharist Is a Test of Faith
Many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, this is a hard saying, who can listen to it. But Jesus knew from the first who those were that did not believe and who it was that would betray him. St. Thomas says basically Christ wanted to test us. Just as we see happening here in this lines of John 6. So what we see here, Eucharist is a test of faith. It demands faith. And we'll see it gives faith and increases faith.
