Science marketing techniques have been criticised for circumventing our critical faculties by avoiding our conscious deliberations. In an ideal perspective, you might think that being a rational agent involves making up your mind free from external influences using kind of the cool logic of reason. But in human psychology, it becomes clear that well, we just don't do that. People have got certain biases that lead them to not listen to scientific messages. If science communicator can work around those biases, the end result will be that they can actually consider the information presented by the science communicator.
