134: Misha Saul - Marriage, Religion and the Domestication of Men
Narratives w/Will Jarvis
What Are the Social Norms Between Men and Women?
Calvin Klein: My view is that just like oxen kind of yoked to kind of plow fields, men have effectively been yoked to build civilization. I think men were domesticated as were dogs and as were horses. He says the reason we're having this conversation over technology is because we effectively stopped trying to hoard wives and kill each other instead directed that energy towards civilization building. And so it is almost unequivocal good. It's not a conspiracy or whatever you want to call it but it's interesting,. Then he asks about social norms between men and women; how they've evolved every time. That led him to talk about male-female relations in society.
