It's a management skill to take the beat and say, hang on a sec. I think it's imperative managers do it, but I think we all need to do it. The whole story you might tell yourself about why they're doing that. It could be that they're struggling with anxiety. Or they think this is the best, most appropriate way to lead a team. You know, it could be. And the idea is to unhook yourself from the negative story you've likely told yourself first time around.
