The real secret of good pricing is understanding that client's situation and their pain so that whatever you put together is highly focused on solving that problem. Once you understand the client's speed pain and what they're really trying to accomplish, I was telling clients, I'm not going to give you a number or a specific proposal in this conversation. I just want to truly understand what you're trying to accomplish. So then I come back afterwards and I'll typically have one, sometimes two options and say, well, you said this was important and that is important. The first one is focused on this and the second option is focused on that.
