How to Diagnose a Pediatric Leukemia
There's no kind of age that this couldn't be leukemia. Children under the age of one have a much worse prognosis and tend to do much more poorly with therapy, but any age is really possible. Other labs that we always want are tumor lysis labs. The other thing we always like to get is a chest x-ray at the beginning. Make sure they don't have a media-stinal mass which becomes super important as we're working them up.
